Sacred & Slow Week 1
Welcome! An overview, a bit of herstory, and our journey into intentional elements...
Hi there! I’m Hunter. I’m a mother of an almost two-year-old daughter, married to my British husband, and we live in Northwest Florida along the beautiful white, sandy beaches. I share about sacred & slow living as well as my own personal journey in motherhood. This is my course, Sacred & Slow, for paid subscribers, but there are also loads of free posts that I share often. Make sure to subscribe to have my newsletter delivered directly to your inbox. Thank you for being here.
Welcome to Week 1 of Sacred & Slow: A 4-Week Journey To Self! I am so excited to begin this journey with you.
Slow living is a lifestyle that incorporates taking an intentional & more mindful approach to everyday life. I first discovered it back in 2018 through Sara Tasker’s blog, Me & Orla, as well as in the books The Kinfolk Home, The Little Book of Hygge, Destination Simple, Seeking Slow, and many more. Over the years Slow Living has become the antithesis to the hustle culture we know so well.
While traditionally, slow living is focused on creating sustainable habits and a more intentional lifestyle, I’ve personally found myself incorporating it more into slowing down to become present in my current life so I can explore what my heart & soul truly desire in this world, and how I can live that desire out. I discovered that when you slow down, you actually create space for your sacred authenticity to come through, and it changes everything. I had another slow living initiation — as I like to call it — when my daughter was born in 2021, and I realized that the greatest way to embrace my new role as a mother was to be intentional with myself and our growth together. I truly believe that slow, sacred living gave me the confidence to tune into my own intuition and step into that energy needed to move from maiden to mother.
We’ve gotten really good at tuning into the masculine energy version of our lives. The go, go, go, get things done, and work harder than everyone else to find success version. I bought into it myself for a long time, and it left me depressed, anxious, and constantly striving for a future I didn’t even want.
It took me reaching my own breaking point to realize that the traditional patriarchal lifestyle we are currently living isn’t the only one. And now I see that slowing down and aligning with our feminine energy is the greatest way to seek success, however that may be defined for you. I hope that as you uncover this new lifestyle, you begin to uncover the parts of yourself that you’ve forgotten or hidden away.
It’s my intention that through sacred & slow living, you can become who you are truly meant to be.
So, welcome to Week 1 of Sacred & Slow. This week is all about learning the history of slow living and sacred living (as I know it). Once we understand these backgrounds, we can dig into what your desires are for living a slower life, and begin to look at where you want that life to take you.
