Focusing on a single task is something that once I discovered was possible [you mean we aren't supposed to ALWAYS multitask?!] changed my workload, my mental health and how I feel about the things I do. I love the tips and excited to embrace more of this in this season.

I love that single task had such a positive impact on you!!! It’s definitely something I’m still working on but can notice a huge difference when I structure my work in that way!! It’s crazy how we think we can get the same quality of things done when we’re multi-tasking, I just don’t think we can dive as deep as we can when doing a single task! Plus it’s so much better for our nervous systems! So glad you’re embracing a slower way this season 🤍

I love having breakfast outside, sadly for half the year it requires an umbrella or multiple layers of wool blankets 😅 and I’m sure my balcony neighbours think I’m crazy…

Oooh love that you still do it even when it's cold or rainy! Hahah your neighbors are probably like, oh she's out again 😂

When it’s really bad I don’t and rather walk later in the day but yes 90% of the time I do. Not when it snows though 🤣 But yeah, nodding heads awkwardly as I sit on the balcony to eat and neighbours to smoke 😅

Love this!!! So relate to the feeling of lazy when first trying to slow down..and one I have to wrestle with constantly if I am being honest!

I still feel the same way! It's so hard to find the balance there!!

Gosh I love this!! In a deep portal of learning how to slow down. My brain and nervous system is so used to seeing that I have a free day and going immediately to “how can I absolutely maximise my day” which used to consist of getting as much done as humanly possible. Re-learning to take satisfaction out of nourishment instead of depletion.

Ahh I feel this so deeply, Jemma! How exciting you’re beginning this journey. I can’t wait to see what unfolds for you, it’s truly been so transformative for me. And I totally get the “maximize my day” thing and I still struggle with that, but leaning into embracing rest when I can more and more!

such a great list! I’ve found it easier (in some ways) to really slow down since having my son. We have a morning routine of getting outside every morning even for a few minutes, and it’s so refreshing. I also love the idea of self care with family. I started to do some workouts with my toddler around, and it is a lot of him crawling on me, but it’s also fun and he’s an extra weight to lift!

I feel the same way! They make you be present which definitely leads into slowing down. Little teachers, aren’t they?

I love that you workout with him! Maverick does the same to me 🤣 crawls all over (the dog too!) but it’s kind of fun!

So many great points and love how this is inspiring and practical! Number 7 for me was the catalyst for moving into a slower life, realising that my body needed so much more rest and nourishment than I was giving it was a huge wake up call and led to so many little changes that feel so much more aligned xx

Mmm that is beautiful, Lyndsay. I love that listening to your body was a catalyst. It really is profound and something we don’t realize we can ignore until it feels like we’re too deep in. So glad you were able to listen and now do what feels best for you!

Focusing on a single task honestly makes such a difference, and I find it soooo hard. Loved this, full of gems x x

I find it so hard too! I’m the queen of having a million tabs open, but working on it!

Single tasking and listening to my body always stick with me, after my burnout. Thinking of how my dear body tried to tell me things, but I thought I could just power on forever, and so entered single tasking in my life. ✨ Thank you for the lovely reminder Hunter!

Reading over scrolling…so true! Don’t always do this, but when I do, there are never any regrets!

I especially resonate with waiting before committing to something. I often don’t feel like carrying through on social plans made well in advance. I find that maybe what I really want is rest or quiet time at home with my family or by myself. Now, with the people who know me best, I feel comfortable saying “let’s see how we both feel tomorrow and we can decide what if anything to do then.”
