I’ve never made sourdough bread before, but I’ve always wanted to. I’m a bit terrified to make it actually 🙈 Don’t know why, but I’d like to try ✨

It’s a lot of trial and error, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature! You should give it a try!

Oh please do share your sourdough tips... I would love to have the courage to give it a go! I’ve always looked enviously at the loaves from other people and feel like it’s so far from my scope of capability!!!

So glad your Grandfather is more comfortable. I hope he stays that way.

My favourite kind of morning would still be a long walk at sunrise to soak up the magic of a new day... but it’s so rare these days so I would settle for a little wiggle on my yoga mat while looking out the window! I love the days when there is nowhere to get to and we can just snuggle in bed, sometimes watching a movie even, and have breakfast in our PJs!! I have to balance my need for routine on some days with total slow spontaneity on others! Xx

I’m working on a sourdough starter post that I’m hoping I can get out this weekend! It’s such a fun little creative experiment, making sourdough. You should definitely give it a try!

Love that slow morning!! A movie in bed is a favorite of mine too!

I don't know about favourite kind of morning, I loved hearing about yours, but any kind of slow morning with 'me' time before anything else is always so worth it!

Oh yes, 'me' time is so coveted these days! I wish I could get up before Maverick but I swear she senses me starting to stir and wakes up instantly 😂

Oh my goodness I'm so excited for you!! I'm obsessed with all things sourdough. You're going to love it! Honestly, just follow the weighing suggestions for your starter. I always do 100g of warm water, like 80-90F degrees to 100g of flour and I do a mix of bread flour or all-purpose and whole wheat. I couldn't get mine to grow for forever and once I added the whole wheat, it got super happy. But since you aren't starting from scratch it'll be so much easier to get it going consistently! Also just make sure it's in a warm enough temperature. If your house drops below 70F, I would put it in the oven with the light on or in a cupboard wrapped up in towels. I've even stuck mine on a heating pad before.

Also I'm horrible with houseplants, but starters are much more forgivable. Haha, if you know you're not going to be able to feed it for a few days/weeks, just chuck it in the back of the fridge and it'll be fine! Feel free to reach out if you ever have any questions!! I love sourdough troubleshooting. But once you follow the weight measurements for awhile, you'll get a feel for it and everything will become so much more intuitive.

Oh, and don't forget to discard between feeds (throw out a little over half of it)!
