Love the sound of the dark chocolate pear cake. Ooft! I’ve always loved summer but am cheating on it with autumn this year. It somehow feels like the season for me to be in and I’m excited to wear my cosiest socks, pull on my wellies and go crunch some leaves 🍂
Autumn is absolutely my favourite. I love the magic of it. I'm really looking forward to picking pumpkins with the kids and doing some baking. We're taking a trip to Maine and Salem this month and I think that it will add to the early autumn experience really beautifully.
Saving to dip in and out of. I struggle in autumn - it’s not my best time... I love the colours but I dislike the cold... ever hopeful the glow keeps me spurred on! ✨💚🍂
Aw I'm sorry, Claire! It's definitely hard since you're so far north too and it gets so dark. I remember the first time I visited Matt (in November) and the sun was only up for a couple hours, it was a bit of a shock. Definitely makes it harder with kids too since you can't just cocoon in bed all day, haha. Hope you can find some joyful ways to romanticize the season even in the midst of hard! Sending love!!
That’s it the scenery is so breathtaking and I’m hoping to pick up some outdoor running again to keep the ole endorphins topped up! We’re planning some escapes in the van too - I just love summer so so much! I miss it already 😞😆✨✨❤️❤️
Same Claire! I love the coziness and colours and seasonal fruits and veg but I need sunshine. Thankfully we have some crisp cold but sunny days in the south of Germany, I hated autumn and winter even more when I lived in London.
I’m so happy that autumn is around the corner! 😁. Your list of activities makes me even more excited! I’m definitely looking forward to reading by candlelight.
I just discovered you, Hunter -- and look forward to looking around. My family has been slow living for such a long time I suppose I hadn't realized it's 'a thing.' When my son was a little boy we met a man at a local historical site -- he sold treenware and talked to our son about making bowls. He taught us many of the philosophies we live by today -- and as a result, we live a quieter, kinder, slower lifestyle. Isn't it interesting how we connect with people who have the most magical impact(s) in our lives? So glad to have found you! ♡
What a beautiful journey you've been on, Jessica! Slow living has definitely become a 'thing' but I remember when I first started following the principles back in 2018, only one or two people were talking about it. I like to believe it's more of a collective remembering of our ancestral roots of living.
I love that you learned so much from the interaction with that man, it really only takes one moment to change your entire life, doesn't it? Thank you so much for sharing and I look forward to having you here!!
I love these Hunter, I have really been thinking about getting back into baking, so I think I’ll start with that. Although here in the Uk it appears that summer has arrived for a week! 😂
If I wasn’t feeling autumnal already, I’m certainly feeling it now! I can’t wait for the next few weeks/ months 🍁. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful list of activities, Hunter! 🤍
I would just add one caveat to the campfire and candle ideas: please practice Fire Safety. In my neck of the woods, sone of our worst wildfires happened in October. If there are high wind advisories, or dry weather, perhaps reconsider. I also have friends and neighbors who had their houses burn. Mind the indoor flames too! Okay done.
Ahhh it’s my favourite season visually and I love slowing and getting cosy... we aren’t quite there yet as having a random heatwave in the UK this week... but I adore candles... fluffy socks... saying no to leaving the house after dark... getting the slow cooker out... porridge bowls instead of cooler breakfasts... so much I love!!! I do struggle with cold like Claire mentioned too... I have hashimotos and one of my worst symptoms is feeling the cold really badly.... so I hate having to wear loads of layers!!! Xx
SO many lovely things in this post! Reading by candlelight ... baking... crafting. Yes. I’m ready for all of it! Such a cosy post! 🍂💫
Thank you Vicky!! I'm ready for all of it, too!

Ah I know, it sounds so delicious!! I definitely need to make it soon!
Hahah I love that you're cheating on summer with autumn! It's going to be such a magical season. I feel like it's so easy to romanticize autumn too!

It's truly so magical! And ahhh so jealous you're going to Maine and Salem, those are the perfect autumn spots!!!
I really can't wait! I've never been to Maine, and I've only visited Salem in the spring before, so it'll be a new experience.
Ah so fun!! I've never been to either so you'll definitely have to let me know how they are!!!
Yes! I'm excited to share!

The scenery is incredible! I started running when I was there in the autumn too and it was soo nice! Hope you enjoy that!
Aw yes summer is such a special time. I can't wait to hear about your adventures in the van!
Same Claire! I love the coziness and colours and seasonal fruits and veg but I need sunshine. Thankfully we have some crisp cold but sunny days in the south of Germany, I hated autumn and winter even more when I lived in London.
Glad you can get some sunshine in Germany!
Ooo I do love a crisp day!! We have a lot of rain usually...
I love all the fall activities!
Fall is so much fun!
I’m so happy that autumn is around the corner! 😁. Your list of activities makes me even more excited! I’m definitely looking forward to reading by candlelight.
Me toooo! I can't wait for the cooler days and darker nights!

Oh this was delicious! I felt like I was wrapped up in the season itself whilst reading it ☺️ EXCELLENT book recommendations - thank you!
This is the BEST, Venus! Thank you so much!!! I'm really glad you enjoyed it, and let me know if you dive into any of the books!!
I love these Hunter, I have really been thinking about getting back into baking, so I think I’ll start with that. Although here in the Uk it appears that summer has arrived for a week! 😂
Ah yes, baking is the perfect autumn activity! Haha it's still very hot here too, but in our minds we can enjoy the start of autumn 😂
If I wasn’t feeling autumnal already, I’m certainly feeling it now! I can’t wait for the next few weeks/ months 🍁. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful list of activities, Hunter! 🤍
Yay, I'm so glad!!

Oh yes, absolutely! Thank you so much for mentioning that. Such an important point!
I love all of these! I personally have been wanting to make some dried oranges garland. I love the world of autumn. 🤎
Don't dried orange garlands sound like the quintessential intro to autumn? I love it too!
I love Autumn, it’s my favorite season! 🙌🏼🍁🧡
Going to the pumpkin patch is always on our list of must-do’s!
It's my favorite season too! And yes, can't wait for the pumpkin patches to open up here!!

We're still at least a month out from cooler weather, but a girl can dream 😂
Enjoy the final heatwave before the colder months take hold!
I was just telling Matt that I can't wait to make porridge because it's absolutely not a warm weather breakfast haha
Oh yes that's totally understandable. I hope your symptoms don't flare up too much this year!
I love all these! Especially those Earl grey honey scones – autumn is the season for baking!!
Don't they sound incredible?! I need to make them soon! Autumn is absolutely the season for baking!!
Yeeeees! It's my season too! Love all the recipes here. And I definitely do solo leaf-peeping trips. The best!
Yay, it's the best! Love how you call them 'leaf-peeping trips'. That's amazing! Here's to a wonderful season ahead!
