I've read Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow and really enjoyed it. Like you, I wasn't sure of the gaming element but actually it was an interesting inclusion and added to the storyline. It gave me A Little Life vibes (although very different in style etc).
I'm a mix of kindle / physical book reading too. I like the 'time left in chapter / book' element and somehow that makes me read more quickly. It's great when you're travelling too and trying to pack light!
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow is a brilliant book and Weyward has been one of my absolute favourite reads of 2024! Just fabulous. I’ve also just got a copy of Beth Kempton’s ‘The Way of the Fearless Writer’ and am looking forward to dipping into it.
I've just added the Way of the Fearless Writer to my "want to read" list"
Would be super curious what you say about Weyward! I wanted to suggest Fourth Wing/Iron Flame to you, but already found it on your GoodReads. I am currently reading:
- Iron Flame
- Heal your Nervous System (Dr. Linnea Passaler)
One book you might also enjoy is "Hunt, Gather, Parent - What Ancient Cultures Can Teach Us About the Lost Art of Raising Happy, Helpful Little Humans" by Michaeleen Ducleff - she is a science journalist and mum who set out on an own research adventure to visit 3 venerable communities to learn how mothers in the respective culture go about their days raising little humans. Even though I am not a mum, I found it somehow soothing and genuinely written!
I read ACOTAR years ago and still haven't picked up Silver Flames. Nesta really just doesn't interest me to be honest. I'll be interested to know if you felt it was worth the read.
I read the full Throne of Glass series last year and into this year. It's A LOT. The first three books were my favorite and then the plot takes a big turn. It's very different from ACOTAR but I think I liked it better!
I just started Darling Girls by Sally Hepworth and I'm enjoying it so far. She writes a lot of domestic thrillers and they're really good. Highly recommend The Soulmate and The Good Sister.
Adding you on Goodreads! Also, I'm a huge fan of "do not finish" so if you need permission to set a book down that you don't enjoy, I'll give it to you!
I am a Kindle reader through and through. I read 3 books over the weekend. I am becoming really partial to novellas. I am looking forward to reading some Nancy Drew books from the Diaries series, The Paid Bridesmaid, and Redeeming Love, after that I am probably taking a break from romance and mystery and going back into my inspirational reading bag.
The kindle was a life saver for me when I was breastfeeding or contact napping, it meant I could finally read because I only needed one hand and I could use it in a dark room!
I’ve been wanting to try fourth wing and the way of the fearless writer.
I read the throne of glass series first, and got into the first few books, but slowly they just felt like they became more and more smutty/fluffy and I lost interest. But that’s also the part most people love about them!
You have a lot of books that I've read or want to read on your list! Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow is on my queue for the year and I'll also be reading it within the next month or so, I think. Weyward was one of my top favourites from last year! I finished the first Throne of Glass book earlier this year and am waiting on the second to come in through the library. I enjoyed ACOTAR but it also isn't my favourite - I really liked Fourth Wing and am looking forward to the second book (which is also on hold currently).
Ooh, love your summer reads list. I absolutely loved The Nightingale as well! I've wondered about her other books. Definitely putting The Women on my list.
If you are looking for non-fiction away from parenting you might enjoy In the Flo by Alisa Vitti
Wild Power by Alexandra Pope and Sjanie Wurlitzer
And...
Mooncycle Cookbook by Devon Loftus and Jenna Radomski
😉 if you can't tell these are all on the topic of cycle syncing. Lol
But they are very good!
Wild Power is written by the founders of Red School and they have podcasts too.
Fourth wing and iron flame .. fabulous…
Can’t wait for the third book … coming to the end of the second so will need a book to cover me from now till Jan … I will keep you posted x
Same here, currently still reading iron flame and am taking it slow since I am afraid to be done 🤣
Yes, I read The Way of the Fearless Writer and I loved it!

The Women is fantastic! I highly recommend. It is heavy a lot of the time (war is the setting after all), but it’s worth reading. Hope you enjoy!

Some great recommendations here, thank you. I'm a huge Kindle fan too - I swear I can power through books much faster in that format.
And I'm about to start Throne of Glass too.
I really got sucked into the ACOTAR series so I have high hopes.
